Forest Genetics CellFor Ltd is not planning to produce genetically engineered plants; the plants we produce are simply copies of the superior varieties as identified in field trials. However, the advantages of genetic engineering cannot be deployed into the forest without a plant propagation platform like the one we are developing. WE will, therefore, be well placed should genetic engineering provide desirable and acceptable improvements. The same is true for the application of marker-aided selection using DNA marker technology.
