Tree Improvement - A powerful tool to combat climate change
Genetic improvement of forest trees can be used to further reduce atmorpheric carbon.
Radiata pine trees which are selected for increased biomass captured on average 25% more carbon, with some varieities capturing more than 100% more carbon than other planting stock.
Use of these trees for plantation forests will slow down global warming.
